In this simple guide, I will go over the Wayfair affiliate program, commissions, how to make money with their affiliate program, how to get approved, and the best practices on this program.
I have added some videos as well to help you understand the concepts in this guide. Let’s get started!
Wayfair Affiliate Program Commission.
The Wayfair affiliate program used to be on ShareASale and all active affiliates were paid 5% – 7% commissions for all products sold through the site. The Cookie duration was set to 30 days.
It was later transferred to Commission Junction (CJ Affiliates). It now offers 7% commissions on products that can cost hundreds of dollars.
In my opinion, this is by far better than Amazon Associates which recently cut the commission rates earning websites and Youtube creators nearly pennies.
You can also partner with other home decor and furniture brands on networks like Shareasale and CJ all together and these will often have higher payouts than the Wayfair affiliate program on CJ.
Wayfair Affiliate Program Allowed countries.
This are a list of countries that I happen to know of that are allowed in the Wayfair affiliate program:
- USA
- Canada
- UK
- Germany
- And some top Tier countries.
For the rest, you will need to do some research on the official websites of CJ or Wayfair itself to see if your country is eligible for the program.
How to Make Money with the Wayfair Affiliate Program?
Starting a blog/website.
To create your website simply signup for hosting and get a free domain using the links on this very page. I currently host all my websites using Bluehost because they offer unlimited bandwidth even for the starter plan.
Unlimited bandwidth means you can have unlimited visitors to your site without paying any additional costs. Though Bluehost may be considered slow here are some ways I manage to speed it up to a 93 score on mobile and 99 on PC using Google page speed insights.
- Have few plugins.
Here is a list of the best plugins you need on your site.
- Pretty links (to shorten affiliate links)
- WordFence (For security from hackers and anlayze problems on the site)
- Smush (For faster images)
- Rank Math SEO Plugin.
- Easy table of Contents
- W3 Total Cache ( You can use the free Cloudflare account to also speed up the site.)
I also installed the Rank Math Instant Indexing plugin to quickly submit my articles to the search engines like Bing, and Google.
- Smush all images before uploading them to your site using a free website called Tinypng
- Keep testing your page speeds using pagespeed insights and apply possible fixes.
Once you have completed that Install one of these themes:
- Ocean WP
- Schema.
- Astra (Currently running on this very site).
- Blabber
- Neori

Feel free to customize the site as you wish. I recommend Astra as it is very fast and the loading speed is now a ranking factor according to the Google core update that was made earlier in 2021.
You should create the important legal pages using the WPLegalPages plugin. After you are done, delete the plugin and you should be good to go. The pages won’t be affected in any way.
It is easy to create these pages as it asks you for simple information.
Signing Up For CJ affiliates.
To signup for Commission Junction, You shall need a few requirements and steps that won’t take that much of your time. First head over to CJ Partners and signup for a publisher account.
Enter your personal information including a reliable email address. Domain or website email is recommended. If you haven’t yet set it all up it’s fine too you can still get in.
Verify your entered email
And Then Accept the publisher agreements which includes the
- Privacy policy
- Software Agreement
- Publisher Service Agreement
Once you are done click on continue to move onto the next page! Log in with your email and created a password at the start. Once you are ready to go then move on to the next step and that is to complete the required steps so that your account is approved.
This is important because once your account is approved, It will increase your chances of getting approved to join a variety of affiliate networks/programs.
You will have to apply to each program separately so that you can start promoting.
Here is what you need to complete before you are an approved CJ publisher:
- Submit Tax Forms.
- Complete your profile
- Add your payment methods.
CJ Payment Methods
CJ Affiliates are paid via direct deposit, check, or Payoneer for non-US affiliates. If you choose the Direct Deposit method you will need minimum earnings of that month of about $50 and for Check folks, you will need $100 of minimum earnings that month.
For our case, we shall Hit on the Advertisers in the menu at the top then search for Wayfair in the keyword menu on the left of your screen.
As you can see in the image below there are a variety of Wayfair programs for different locations. If you live in Canada, USA, and other English-speaking countries then join the Wayfair Professional one.
Once your request is approved then you should be able to create links for any products that you wish to promote. This brings us to the promotion strategy for bloggers or your new website.
Before I explain the strategy, I will first talk about getting approved for CJ affiliate programs.
Getting Approved for CJ Affiliate Programs.
Here are some simple techniques I use to get approved for any affiliate network.
- Share Screenshot images/ links to images of your earnings on other networks.
- Share links to your landing pages/ websites/ Youtube channels or your primary traffic sources.
- Be authentic and don’t lie.
- Tell the affiliate manager about your promotional strategy.
- Email the affiliate manager on CJ for help if your stuck.
- Reach out to the affiliate team or support of Wayfair and build a relationship with them. Tell them about your business and your plans of working with them.
- Explain step by step your promotional strategy in your approval request. Be detailed and show them you understand affiliate marketing.
Well-established bloggers and affiliates know you need an affiliate disclosure to comply with FTC rules, privacy policy for Facebook ads, Authentic copyrighting, and by talking about these things show are presenting yourself as an established affiliate who understands the game.
Getting Traffic to Your Blog.
This strategy will work for Youtube as well and you don’t necessarily need a website but it helps because you can get traffic from Google as well over time.
Keyword research.
The very first strategy I would recommend can be reverse engineering your competition. Watch the video below on how to do this step by step.
This strategy is used by many affiliates to get keywords that their competitors are ranking for with weaker websites so that they can rank for them as well.
Find domains or websites that are in your niche and make a list of them.
Next, add them to the Semrush keyword tool and then analyze the traffic and keywords.
You can sort the KD by easy and very easy in the Semrush tool
Free Keyword Research.
In this method, you will analyze the search engine results without using any keyword research tools. Find Keywords with the following key phrases.
- Can
- Should
- Do
- How
- Why
- Where
- What
- Does
- Are
For example, I would log out of Google or use an incognito tab. Add the start word eg ” what size should my sofa seat occupy?”
You can also find these keywords easily by looking at the results. There will often be:
- Quora.
- Reddit..
- A lot of Youtube videos.
- Similar but not spot on titles.
Once you see this put the keyword in quotes and see how many results are specifically targeting that keyword. The lower the number the better.
These keywords are often ignored but can help your site rank quicker in Google. Watch the video below to learn how to find them easily.
These are the keywords that you should target in your first 30-60 articles. As you get some traffic and rankings then move on to the reverse engineering method to get more traffic.
Promoting Your Content.
The best place to promote your content is Pinterest. This platform is fit for Home decor, furniture and it is exactly what the Wayfair affiliate program has in store.
Users on this platform look for inspiration and Wayfair has some images you can use as an affiliate in your promotions but always avoid copyright infringement by trying the best stock photo sites that don’t suck.
Here are some tips to help you out and a video to help you rank your pins on Google too.
Create keyword rich pins and boards.
There are a number of ways to find keywords that you can use on Pinterest. Use the search feature or the keyword research tool in the ads section.
Short tail keywords should be board names and add descriptions to the boards too.

The long tail keywords that is 4+ words you get from the search tools should make up the Pin titles and descriptions.
Link out to your videos or website. You can also join group boards to share your images and this will greatly increase your reach and traffic overtime from Pinterest.
Be active atleast once a day on the platform. Inactive accounts that have no fresh content lose reach and traffic overtime but if you have ranked pins this shouldn’t affect your domain or website.
You can create multiple pins to the same URL but don’t make it too spammy. You can interchange the pin and video pins monthly to link to the same blog article or video.
Pins that rank high on Pinterest will also help the Videos or Blog posts they link to rank highly on Google and Youtube as well. So it is definitely worth it.

Approval times can take awhile and in some cases if you don’t thoroughly explain your promotional strategy then you may be at risk of getting denied or ignored.
Conclusion
By looking at the program in my opinion I would highly encourage you to try it out and monetize your traffic that way. Traffic is not a problem if you are getting it for free from Google and other search engines like Youtube.
Currently Youtube hasn’t released an update about product reviews so making videos can be an easy way to go if you can afford a website or hosting. You necessarily don’t even need to be on Camera.
You can hire freelancers to review products or make the videos and edit for you on sites like Fiverr, people per hour for simple low price.
