In this guide, I am going to walk you through how to do affiliate marketing on blogspot step-by-step from beginner to expert. You will learn how to start an affiliate website using blogger, rank in it in the search engines, get free organic Google Traffic and make money through affiliate marketing.
For this example am going to be using affiliate products from Jvzoo, but the idea can be implemented for other affiliate networks like ClickBank, Warriorplus, Shareasale, Maxbounty, Digistore24, Markethealth, individual affiliate programs, and CPA offers as well.
I have attached a video version for this exact tutorial that you can watch below as well in case you don’t prefer to read it. I will also give you an extra bonus at the end on how you can get free traffic to your new website, each day 24/7 for free.
Create A free Blogger Blog
You will need to sign up using your email for a free blogger blog. It is all absolutely free.
You will need to choose a name for your blogger website, a custom subdomain, which should be similar to your website name. Once you have created one then the next important step is to find a custom theme for your website.
To find this I recommend Blogger templates from gooyabitemplates.
These templates are SEO responsive and load fast. So take your time and choose a template that will make your blogger website look professional and attractive to your visitors.
Editing the Layout And SEO Settings of your Blogger Blog.
Once you have found a custom nice-looking theme for your blog then go ahead and extract the file. You simply right-click on the file then hit extract all, which should be in your downloads folder on your PC.
Once you have extracted the file then the next step is to go ahead and upload the XML document under Theme > Customize (hit the drop down menu) > restore > Upload. In some cases you could just upload the entire zip file and it could work.
Once the upload hit the view blog setting in the bottom left of your blogger backend.
This should allow you to see the new appearance of your blog. The most common feature of all the templates you will get is that they will all have a crowded sidebar with unnecessary features.
So go ahead and delete all you can see in the blogger backend. You can delete these by clicking on layout in the left menu of your backend and then the pencil icons next to the feature you want to delete.
Once you hit the pencil icon a new pop up menu should appear and it is at this point you should look for a remove button. Hit that and delete all you don’t need.
I recommend deleting and getting rid of all the other features available in the footer as well. You can undo, save changes made using the buttons in the bottom right corner as shown in the image above.
Edit the header of your website and menu as well. For the menu, you can add links to your legal pages which include the Privacy pages, Terms, and conditions, Disclaimer, About page (For the about page you can simply talk about your blog, interest, and what you blog about.), Affiliate disclosure page.
The affiliate disclaimer is an important FTC requirement and as an affiliate site you are required to have it. You can simply create this in minutes by looking at those from other competitor affiliate sites.
It doesn’t have to be that long you can have a couple of sentences if not paragraphs talking about the affiliate links on your site.
For the rest of the other pages, you can simply copy my exact pages and swap out my blog URL, website name, and email for yours. [link to my blogger website, copy my exact pages > https://joshnewreviews.blogspot.com ]
To create these pages simply click over the left menu under pages and give the page a title, and paste the content you copied from my site into your site, then do the edits as mentioned above.
Doing this will make your site more authentic, trustworthy and legit unlike other spammy blogs. It is also a legal requirement for all bloggers, when applying for Adsense or any Ad network.
You can also edit the favicon (under settings on the left menu), Logo which you can all create using canva. according to your blogger template, the logo size may varry.
To find the logo size for the current logo on the template, simply right-click on the logo and search Google for the image. This will open up a new tab with the image and its dimensions.
These are the dimensions you add to canva or any logo creator you use.
The average and most common size for most favicons is 16×16 pixels.
Once you have already edited the entire site and it all looks ready to go then you will need to create a sitemap and submit this via the custom robots.txt file for your blogger blog.
Here are some links to resources you can use;
You simply google for sitemap generator for blogger and you should be able to find the labnol.org one. use that and create a sitemap. All you do is add the URL of your blogger website and hit create sitemap. This should take a few seconds.
once you have the sitemap ready copy it and submit the sitemap via your blogger backend to Google. To do this simply go to your Blogger.com website backend/dashboard, navigate to Settings –> Search Preferences, enable Custom robots.txt option (available in the Crawling and Indexing section). Paste the XML sitemap here and save your changes.
This should automatically approve if you see an error then the generator you have used is not a recognized partner with Google. This is why I recommend the labnol.org one.
Once you have done so with Google then the next step is to submit your sitemap to Bing as well.
This may take a while but I guarantee you it will be worth your time. You can check out this resource to submit the sitemap to Bing. You will always rank faster and better on Bing than Google.
This is going to be important further on when you write your affiliate articles.
The other important thing that most people miss is the search description. This tells the search engines what your website is all about. This helps them know where they should rank you and what matters you post about.
Ensure that the site is visible to search engines and this can be under Settings > then Privacy.
You should also check to make sure that your blogger website redirects via HTTPs. This is an important ranking factor so ensure your site has this checked on.
Create a google analytics, and search console account for your blogger blog using the same email you signed up with. This is important because you will get a clear understanding of what keywords you rank for and how your site is performing.
The rest are useless and you can play around with them if you like. If you get this done then your website will be guaranteed for success.
This whole process should take you a couple of minutes and you should have your site ready to go with in 30 minutes.
Once you are ready then it is time to add your affiliate links to your Blogspot website. To do this we are going to need content. This is what gets people to your site to click your affiliate links.

Reviewing New Products.
This is one of the easiest way to find new products that are getting attention then use that attention to make affiliate commissions. This is simple as there are quite a number of websites that can alert you on such new products.
Muncheye
This is a website that specifically deals with new products in the internet marketing world. It lists the products according to affiliate network, product vendor and date of launch. You can sign up as an affiliate and promote these products via review on your blogger website.
All you need is to have an account on Warrior plus, Paykickstart, Jvzoo and ClickBank to be able to promote these products. I have attached a link to some helpful scripts that can help you as a beginner when applying to be approved to promote these products.
To find the best products to promote on Muncheye you simply promote all big launches, if you can get a link to them. some vendors will approve you and others will deny but all you need to do is to promote those that approve you to the best of your ability.
CB Engine
Here you can new products that have just been added to the affiliate marketplace, grab your affiliate link and start promoting them via SEO before huge websites start writing these articles as well.
This site shows you the new products that have just been added to the marketplace and their current gravity. Any product with a gravity of 10,20+ is a good product so jump on it as fast as possible.
Always strive to be among the first 5 bloggers to write review articles about these new products. If you have no clue what the product is about then simply read other articles ranking and rewrite them in your own words.
Since you are using a blogspot subdomain, Google will give you favor against other sites as they would want people to use more of their blogger platform by ranking yours. This is the power of using blogger. Once you are among the first few, you can ranking the top 10 and get that free traffic which means more commissions for you.
You should write many articles on blogger about the products make as many sales as possible and build up that trust or sales history that most vendors need to see before they approve you. They need affiliates who can really send them buyers.
Luckily with my method I discovered you can write evergreen articles to promote products that you have been already approved for. This is how you do It.!!
Writing Evergreen articles with Buyer intent
You can find these evergreen articles simply by making a few analysis on the products you promote. Find out what audience or market the product serves. If the software you are promoting is for social media scheduling then you can write an article about the best social media schedulers for a specific market it serves.
A headline you would have is “the best social media schedulers for small agency owners”. You would find other social media schedulers and sign up for their respective affiliate programs then write a useful resource with your affiliate links for each of the software.
By doing this you guarantee to make money promoting Jvzoo promoting that specific software alongside other software. This is how you should do affiliate marketing on Jvzoo as a smart affiliate. A review article is only relevant for a short period of time.
If you write an evergreen article you will make commissions for your Jvzoo affiliate products each and every single month. This is how you can build up the reputation as new affiliate. It is important to promote those products you have been approved for and send as much traffic as possible to make more sales.
You should strive to over 100 sales as a new affiliate to be eligible for instant payments for all the future promotions you make. With this method you should be able to do that in a couple of weeks if not months depending on the competitiveness of the keywords you choose.
Ensure these keywords are not too competitive and this brings me to the next tactic on how you can find the underserved topics or low competitive keywords you can target.
If you follow these criteria am going to explain below you will always rank for the keywords you choose if at all they fit in the category am going to explain here. You will rank 9/10 on the first page of Google if you really implement this starting today.
Finding underserved Topics.
Underserved topics are topics that have never been written about. Thes topics often have low search volume but I recommend you write more of these because you need some free traffic to your site month after month without having to write articles each day.
You can find these topics using Google auto-complete.
All you need to know when identifying these underserved topics this is what the current search results should have;
- Forum threads ranking in the top 10. For example Quora, Reddit, and other forums…
- Similar results but not exactly what you searched up.
- Short articles under 1000 words.
- Old and outdated content that is irrelevant today. [Some topics can be old but still relevant so take the time and read the articles, and see if the topic is evergreen “for example how to tie a tie has old and relevant articles” hopefully you get it.
- No huge websites ranking. Sites that rank should have bad designs that make you want to rip your eyes out. These are sites you probably might have never heard of. If you have heard of them then stay away from that topic.
The search results don’t need to fulfill all of these factors but if you notice any of these then it is a good topic. Aim more for Forums based one because they are easier to rank for.
